DIY Hot Water Professional Review

Hello,
Landon Marks here. I wanted to spend some time sharing some information on the do it yourself, solar water heater instructional guide called DIY Hot Water. I personally love the name of this product; it’s simple. I mean, Hot Water.. we all need it, and most of us pay for it! What if you could change that? DIY Hot Water is my favorite of the 2 solar water heater products that I’ve obtained thus far.
If you’re like myself, and intrigued about the idea of off grid living, then you’ve probably realized that figuring out how to heat your homes water supply is part of the off grid living puzzle. If you spend any reasonable amount of time researching solar water heaters, you’ll find there are many ways to go about this. It’s actually pretty amusing. Some of these designs are, to put it nicely, “very creative”. However, after seeing so many different designs I realized that they are all fundamentally similar. This helped me lean towards wanting to learn about the various do it yourself models out there.
The author begins this guide with a fantastic introduction into the Go Green / Renewable Energy market. He really takes the time to give you an understanding of the importance of this movement which I found very motivating. As you start going through the different areas of the guide, you immediately realize that this author is literally holding your hand through the process he took in building his own solar water heater. You can really tell he isn’t just spouting off the theory behind building one of these units, he is taking you through the mindset he had when he approached this type of project. He does a good job at keeping things interesting too. Every now and then he takes side bar and gives you some extra perspective around the construction plans that you would only get if you actually built your own.
One factor of the product that initially was a concern before I began reading (key point..BEFORE I began reading) was that I didn’t see many pictures or drawings to compliment the different steps. This proved to not be an issue because of how well the author explains himself. He methodically takes you through every step in such detail you’re actually able to visualize what he’s talking about very easily. Each step is a small piece of the puzzle and he gives it to you little by little.
Some of the main sections of the guide include:
*How to Build the Solar Collector
*How to Install the Collector
*How to Build the Heat Reservoir
A few additional parts:
*Electronic Controls for Your System
*Adding Insulation
*Installing the Rack on Your Roof
Something else I should share that I feel is important is the feeling I got while reading through the info. The author is someone who you can tell genuinely enjoys taking part in these types of projects and communicates warmth within his teaching. I didn’t just feel like I was reading through a technical manual written by some engineer who is out of touch with the “average” people in this world. The author seems to have a knack for keeping things simple so that the masses can understand and implement the information taught.
The last part of the guide includes a chapter titled “Final Words”. I recommend that after you purchase this product, before you begin any construction, read this section! This is where he takes some time to describe what it’s like to have a fully functional solar water heater. I found this also a motivating section because he sort of paints the vision for what its like to not be paying for your hot water anymore.
Well there you have it. DIY Hot Water. Simple. Thorough. Complete. I strongly recommend this product for anyone looking into building your own solar water heater.

When I first started researching the concept of living "grid free", I was a little overwhelmed at the idea because there were so many roads to go down. I personally was interested... - 2 years ago
